Home Study
Monday evening was the first home study for Kristen and I in our adoption process. It consists of an adoption worker from a local home study agency coming to our house to interview us. It lasted approximately three hours and consisted of interview questions covering a little of everything. It was great to get this behind us, as we finally feel like we're making progress in the adoption process with the home study, paperwork, etc. The home studies will continue for some time even after we bring the child home.Kristen and I are continuing in the paperwork process, which has been tedious at best. Nearly every document must be notarized and absolutely perfect. That means even a small spelling error or listing "San Salvador" instead of "El Salvador" once on a document renders everything void and must be completed again. Jason and Rose have been patient and understanding, as they are going to have documents notarized for the third time in a few days due to previous mistakes by the notary, etc.
Kristen and I are hoping to have the majority, if not all, of our paperwork completed before we leave for Italy on December 21.
